New York City

We arrived in NYC on Friday morning. We checked into the W hotel near Rockefeller Plaza. We then walked around town. We went to Radio City Music Hall for a tour. We even met a Rockette (I thought of you mom!)

For dinner we went to Bobby Flay's restaurant (Food Network Chef) Mesa Grill. It was very yummy.

After dinner, we cabbed to Times Square to see the Lion King. Colleen had never seen a show on Broadway before. The show was great.

Saturday was a busy day. We started the morning with Starbucks and the Today Show. Colleen was very excited to see where one of her favorite shows is filmed.

Our next adventure was a Central Park Bike Tour. The tour showed us all of the highlights. It was also nice to get some exercise.

After our tour, we went to the Jersey Boys theater to see if we could get tickets. We were second in line for the cancellation line. It was a good thing we waited in line because we got 3rd row seats. The cast we saw had 2 Tony Award winners. It was a fabulous show that we would highly recommend.

After our long morning/afternoon, we headed back to our hotel for a nap and to get ready for dinner. We first had a drink at the Oriental Hotel overlooking Times Square. It was fancy and expensive! We then went to Jean George restaurant in the Trump Tower. Alan was very excited to try this restaurant. It was voted the number 2 restaurant in the US. What an experience. It was wonderful. Check out our fancy desserts.

Saturday was a busy day so Sunday we slept in and went to the MET. They have a recommended entrance fee but not a mandatory fee. So, we were able to see the museum for the free. The best part was the rooftop view of the city. We had a fabulous vacation.
